Baby Banz Chlorine Resistant Suit Review (Sun Safety Series 2012)

Summer is right around the corner and water activities will abound. My oldest son loves playing in the water and I have no doubt that the baby will too. Of course, being out in the water and under the sun means diligence in sun protection. In search for products to spotlight for the Sun Safety Series 2012, I found Baby Banz.

About Baby Banz
Founded in Australia in 2001, Baby Banz is the manufacturer of the Original Baby Banz sunglasses; wrap-around 100% UV protective baby sunglasses. A year later, Baby Banz came to the US with their industry standard sunglasses. The company is committed to protecting children from the harsh UV rays and has since expanded their product line to include other UV protective children's wear. The Baby Banz Protection Collection includes summer clothing and accessories such sun hats and flap hats, swimwear, and goggles. Winterwear items are also offered such as Ski Banz, beanies, scarves, and mittens. Today, Baby Banz products are sold worldwide and also offers a registry. The company also supports non-profit organizations and associations.

MY THOUGHTS
We received the Chlorine Resistant one piece suit in light blue/black for review. The suit is sized for 6-12 months but I decided to try it on the baby anyway who is 3 months and about 12 lbs. It surprisingly fit; loose and more like a long-sleeve jumper, but it still fit. I think the fluffy cloth diaper helped make it fit around the torso area and increased a couple of inches to the length of the baby. The two outstanding features of this suit (sun protective and chlorine resistant) are really the reason why I chose this particular swimwear. I am a big fan of clothing made with UPF fabric and love the fact that the sun protection is built in. I don't have to worry about reapplying sunscreen because sometimes I forget to or because the baby is too active. Whatever the reason, swimwear made of UPF fabric is fantastic and gives me confidence my baby is protected all the time.

I love the fact that this swimwear is chlorine resistant. As summer approaches and the weather heats up, we will be spending more time in the pool. The baby won't stay in the water too long because I don't want to expose his skin to too much chlorine, but the suit will be worn nevertheless. This means constant and consistent exposure for the suit. It's nice to know that it will stand up against chlorine and won't fade over time. I machine washed the Chlorine Resistant one piece suit in cold water and hung to dry prior to first use. It did fine and didn't shrink or showed any sign of deformation. The suit is well made and will certainly last. Another feature that I like is that this suit is one piece and I don't have to worry about loosing a matching partner. Plus, the baby looks so cute in it.

The unique design feature of this suit also stands out among other swimwear for infants. I like that it has a zipper closure on the leg inseam for diaper access. It ensures a complete closure without any gaps. It was easy to open and close. I'm sure this feature will become invaluable as the baby gets older and moves around a lot more during changes.

The $49.99 price tag for the Chlorine Resistant one piece suit is pretty steep compared to other swimwear you can buy on the market. However, those won't have the same protective features and quality that this Baby Banz swimwear offers. Whether your baby is fair skinned or not, a baby's skin is delicate and sensitive and is worth protecting, by any means. Why not protect it with a high-quality product that will look cute on too.

A special thanks to Baby Banz for generously offering a Chlorine Resistant one piece suit to one of my readers.
