Breastfeeding in public is something that I was definitely shy to do initially. Big B did not like drinking out of the bottle so I pretty much was his nutrition source for a while. I had tried baby blankets and a pashmina to cover myself up while nursing, but neither one of us were comfortable. It wasn't until I had discovered nursing covers that I truly felt comfortable breastfeeding while out-and-about.

DRIA Cover is the brainchild of Adria, a Clinical Psychologist from San Diego, CA. The idea for a multi-purpose product came after Adria was overwhelmed with the amount of gear she had to tote for her newborn daughter. She designed a product that would replace the need to carry a blanket, nursing cover, and stroller shield. The DRIA Cover was born. The cover is made from modal, a soft, lightweight, and breathable material, made sustainably from the pulp and fiber of Beechwood tree. MY THOUGHTS
The DRIA Cover runs for $79.95 a cover. Yes, this is expensive, if you see it for one item. However, the functionality of this one item is four-fold. It's something that moms can use before and long after giving birth. The quality of the cover also lends itself to hand-me-downs to family and friends.

MY THOUGHTS
I received the Oslo DRIA Cover to review. The first thing I thought after taking it out of the box was how soft it was. The material is soft and supple, perfect against a baby's delicate skin. I could't believe this came from a tree, but it did. I love the design. Stripes are everywhere now and I thought about wearing this trendy cover as a top. I know it's meant as a maternity poncho, but I honestly don't see why I couldn't wear it post-partum, even when not nursing. So I wore it out to lunch. I did have to wear a tank top underneath it since the sides are completely open. I got a lot of comments from family when they saw me in it. They were surprise to find out that it's actually a nursing cover.
The size is great, perfect for everything that it's meant to do. This one-size fits all cover is huge and can accomodate a variety of heights. I'm 5'4" and I didn't feel like it draped too low. Before my first use, I washed it and dried it in the dryer. I was a little anxious to see if it would shrink but it didn't. The hole to put your neck through is also wide enough. Since I have a pixie cut and don't fuss with my hair too much, I don't really have a problem with putting my head through the cover to wear. The fabric stretches so if someone does have their hair up or done, it can accomodate that and leave the hair untouched.
I've only used this as a top and nursing cover. I have not tried it as a car seat or stroller cover. I usually wear Little B when we are out, so I rarely take the car seat out of the car. If we do, it's from the garage to inside the house. My sister has used this as a blanket. On the way home, she was getting cold in the car so I tossed her the cover to use as a blanket. She loved it. As a second-time breastfeeding mom, I was fine not seeing Little B while he was nursing. I know that a lot of moms love making eye contact with their baby while breastfeeding, and so do I. You can still do that with the DRIA Cover, but you'll have to manually open up the cover.
