itti bitti Minkee Change Mat Review

Photobucket After a year of not changing diapers, I am back to it again. I was so glad when my first son was finally potty trained because my diaper bag became considerably lighter. Now, with cloth diapering the baby, my diaper bag is huge. The good thing is, it's filled with cute cloth diapers and accessories. Never in my wildest dreams would I think to change a diaper on a minkee change mat, but I have. That's the thing with discovering cloth diapers, there's this whole new world of baby products that I have yet to explore.

About itti bitti
itti bitti began its roots in Australia in 2005 and debuted in the US in 2011. Known for its trim, colorful minkee cloth diapers, itti bitti is sold in over 25 countries. Since its inception, itti bitti has expanded its product line to include cloth diaper accessories such as change mats, wet bags, wipes, nursing pads, and minkee blankets. Cloth diapering parents can find a variety of cloth diapers to choose from: onse size all-in-one bitti tutto, sized all-in-one bitti d'lish, and fitted bitti boo. All bitti tutto diapers come in minkee fabric in a variety of bright, vibrant colors and limited prints. Eco-distribution is the exclusive distributor of itti bitti products in the US.

MY THOUGHTS
I received the minkee change mat in zebra to review. Upon first glance, I thought "How posh is this?". I couldn't imagine changing a poopy diaper on it; it looks so nice and felt so soft. But, eventually I did. I am not a big fan of animal print but the zebra print is actually very cute. The mat is a good size; my 4 month old fits inside the whole thing. I washed it and dried it in the dryer prior to use. The mat did not shrink. It is well made and with good quality materials; a bamboo velour on one side and waterproof minkee on the other.

What I like about the change mat is that it is not bulky at all when folded. I suppose like the cloth diapers, these mats are trim. It is not padded, so there is no cushion. However, because of the material it is made of, it is soft and almost fluffy. The baby has never complained, at least I don't think he has complained, when I have used this mat to change him.

The one inconvenience about this mat is that because it is made of fabric, if it gets soiled you can't just wipe it with a disinfectant. You actually have to wash the whole thing. Other than that, it's great.
