FunBites® Review & Giveaway - Anything Goes Giveaway Hop

PhotobucketSimilar to other parents, I have a somewhat picky eater. The rule in our house is to try what we put infront of him. He doesn't have to like it, but he has to at least try it. Sometimes he does like what he tastes, and other times, not so much. However, appearance always helps. How the food is presented to him certainly makes giving it a try more convincing. Hence, my love of bento. I am no bento expert, but occasionally, when I am inspired, I do love to make cute little shapes out of his food.

About FunBites®

MY THOUGHTS
We received the Cube It! food cutter for review. I am always on the lookout for bento-related products and was very excited to find FunBites®. The food cutter looks different than other food cutters that I have used in the past. There are two components: the cutter and the popper top. I love the popper top. It really helps get the food out of the cutter. Often times I struggle just a little bit separating the food from the cutter, especially if the shape has a small crevice. Not so with FunBites®. The food slides out when you push with the popper.

Another feature that I like is that the cutter is curved at the bottom. This helps with the cutting process. Most cutters are flat so you have to give it a little twist or shake to make sure the food has been cut. The curved bottom of the cutter lets you roll the cutter side-to-side to ensure that the food has been cut. Pretty smart. I've used this on sandwiches, fruits, and baked items. It's very user-friendly.

The cutting side of the cutter is certainly sharp enough to handle a sandwich, but it isn't so sharp that I have to be extremely cautious. Although I do feel it is kid-safe, I would not let my 4 year old son handle this. I think an older child might be better equipped to use FunBites®. As for the price, it's a bit more expensive than some of the cutters I've purchased. Then again, those cutters don't have the cool features I just mentioned.

My son has eaten everything that I used FunBites® with. He thinks the bite-sized portions are super cute. I have yet to try this on broccoli. That may be the true test of all.
