When my son was younger he didn't like to wear hats. I didn't want to force him to wear them and hoped that he would eventually take to them. MY THOUGHTS
We received the Fun in the Sun in Safari for review. What a cute little hat this is. I'm a big fan of bucket hats and this is no exception. The colors are bold and vibrant; perfect for a toddler. After washing in the washer and hang drying, the colors did not fade. The Fun in the Sun hat is well made and durable. I like this a lot since it will get a lot of use for the rest of the summer (and hopefully the next kid).
I love that the hat is wide enough to cover my son's face and neck, but not too big to be cumbersome or get in the way. He is four and the size xx-large is perfect. The hat is not stiff, so it will not retain it's shape unless worn. It's great because I can fit it in our beach bag without fear of ruining it's shape or structure, and fold it to fit tight spaces.
My favorite feature of course is that this hat is made of UPF 50+ material and will protect my son's skin from the sun's harsh UV rays. Is it his favorite hat? No, but blue and orange are his current favorite summer colors, so this hat does get used quite a bit. His head gets a little sweaty when he wears this hat (and any hat for that matter) for too long.
The $20.95 price tag is not bad (current sale price is $16.95). It's comparable to other bucket hats with similar features. This will be great for kids and babies. Bucket hats seem to match a lot of different outfits and not just beach wear. I love that Flap Happy® has a variety of hats for little ones, even organic. They are all functional and fashionable.
