EcoGeek Boutique™ Review (Celebrate the Earth)

PhotobucketLiving a green lifestyle is often a private affair. Whatever we do, we do at home, sometimes at work, but very rarely do we let the world know that we are eco-conscious. We don't walk around with a sign that says "I recycle," well, not me anyway. As much as I believe that actions speak louder than words, I do think a cute graphic tee may be subtle enough to let everyone know that I am an environmentalist. I found just the tees that I was looking for at EcoGeek Boutique™.

MY THOUGHTS
I received a baby gift set to review which included a onesie, 3 burp cloths, and 3 food towels. Upon opening the package, I immediately fell in love with the Carbon Neutral onesie. It is super cute and I couldn't wait to put it on the baby. The onesie runs small, so it's best to order a size up. Baby is wearing a size 3-6 months, and at 2 months, and a little over 11 pounds, the onesie is a good fit. There is definitely some room to grow, especially in the torso area. The bulkiness of his cloth diaper makes the onesie look more snug than it really is. The material is thick and soft and did not shrink after washing.

The burp cloth looks like it is made of cotton flat cloth diapers. The middle piece is also made of cotton. Similar to the onesie, the designs are adorable. After one cycle of wash (on cold) and dry (on low setting), the white material shrank about 1.5 inches on both sides - the middle bunched up. However, despite the shrinkage, the burp cloth is still generously sized. Both materials feel soft to the touch and are absorbent, qualities that you definitely want on a burp cloth.

The food towels are so luxuriously soft. I don't think the chenille side is as absorbent as the cotton side, but it is so soft and feels nice against the skin. As with the burp cloth, there was a little bit of shrinkage; very inconsequential. Since baby doesn't eat solids yet, I have added the food towels to my stash of burp cloths and they are working out quite well.

Price wise, $16.95 for a onesie is a bit on the expensive side. However, considering that it is a good quality novelty item, the price is comparable to, if not less expensive than, other retailers. EcoGeek Boutique™ clothing line is so cute and funny. I really love the onesie and want to show it off. This would make such a cute baby shower gift for a crunchy mama.

A special thanks to EcoGeek Boutique™ for providing a baby gift set to one of my readers.
