Jack n' Jill Natural Toothpaste for Kids (Giveaway)

jack n jill raspberry and blackcurrant natural toothpaste
In continuing with my National Children's Dental Health posts, I wanted to share another product that we discovered. As you know, I'm always on the lookout for personal care products that are made with natural ingredients. I found Jack n' Jill while perusing through the Environmental Working Group's cosmetic database. It's actually the first toothpaste listed.

We received tubes of raspberry and blackcurrant toothpaste, a hippo toothbrush, and a tooth and gum brush from Jack n' Jill to review on this blog. The minute I opened the package I loved these products. First, they are kid sized and perfect for little hands to use. The toothbrush head is a good size for the mouths of younger children. The bristles are also soft to the touch. The tubes are not the size of a typical toothpaste. They are smaller and can be gripped easily by kids. The flip cap is also very convenient and easy to open and close.

Another reason why I immediately loved these products is because the toothpastes are made with natural ingredients. Unlike conventional toothpastes, these do not contain fluoride. Jack n' Jill toothpastes contain Xylitol and organic flavors like raspberry, banana, blueberry, blackcurrant, and strawberry. I do believe that fluoride is good for keeping teeth healthy. But, it's not the only way to keep teeth healthy. I prefer to use toothpaste that doesn't contain fluoride for my family, but that is my personal choice. Since Big B does have a tendency to swallow toothpaste while brushing his teeth, I would rather he swallow an all natural toothpaste than one containing fluoride. Upon putting a little bit of toothpaste on his brush, Big B smiled because the paste is clear; something different than what he's used to. He got super excited after smelling it. It smelled sweet and tasted just as good as it smelled.

As far as functionality goes, the teeth and gum brush should win an award. I used this for Little B who really enjoys brushing his teeth. He mostly chews on this brush but I do try and make sure I'm actually cleaning his teeth. Since the brush has two sides, it brushes the top and bottom teeth simultaneously...genius. You get the job done in half the time.

The price points for the toothpaste ($6.99) and toothbrushes ($4.99) are comparable to other similar products out on the market. After tasting other natural toothpastes, I'd say that these are by far better tasting. I highly recommend trying the toothpaste, not just because they are all natural and scored well by EWG standards, but because your kids will actually want to brush their teeth with these.
