Nuts About Granola Review (National Nutrition Month®)

As part of my National Nutrition Month® series, I was in search of products that are both nutritious and tastes good. During my research, I found Nuts About Granola. Typically, granola consists of natural ingredients such as oats and grains, with added fruits, seeds, and sweeteners to vary flavor. Due to its contents, granola is relatively healthy and provides fiber as well as macro and micronutrients. What made me gravitate towards Nuts About Granola was the fact that all the ingredients they use are local.

MY THOUGHTS
I honestly never bought loose granola before I tried Nuts About Granola. I've had granola before, but it always came with the parfait I bought or in a bar form. After tasting Plain Jane, I am definitely going to buy loose granola again. It's so versatile; you can use it as a topping (on yogurt, ice cream, parfaits), an added ingredient (cereals, trail mix) or as is. It's great in adding texture and flavor. That's another thing I discovered about granola, it comes in a variety of flavors. I loved the Plain Jane that I was given to review.

After opening the packet, I tasted it and I couldn't stop eating it. At one point I remembered to share with my son, and he too couldn't have enough. My whole family is a fan of peanut butter and Plain Jane was just spot on. The peanut butter taste was not too overwhelming or too subtle. The combination of all the different ingredients was balanced and not one overpowered all the others. What I like most about this product, in addition to the flavor, is that all the ingredients are natural and you can pronounce every single one of them. It's also pretty cool knowing that the product you got was just made days before you purchased it. You can just taste the freshness.

With regard to price, as I mentioned I have not bought loose granola before, so I can't compare the price with other comparable products. However, I can say that $4.99 for a 10 oz bag sounds pretty good for all that yummy goodness.
