Hispanic Scholarship Foundation Celebrates Leaders in Education
As a student, I am very much appreciative of organizations that help students achieve their goals through financial aid. Without these institutions, I would not have been able to pursue my advanced degrees, lest I be in overwhelming debt. Whether through a grant, scholarship, or stipend, no matter how big or small the award, I am forever grateful for having been lucky enough to receive support. I am delighted to partner with the Hispanic Scholarship Foundation (HSF) to bring awareness about their commitment to helping students.

Mimi's Cafe Power of Pink Campaign Raises Breast Cancer Awareness
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I don't know anyone who has not been affected by this disease: a mother, sister, aunt, wife, or friend. As you know, I am all about prevention. I know that a mammogram isn't going to prevent breast cancer, but it can help detect it and hopefully, get someone the help they need early enough.

Healthy Child Healthy World Hosts Date Night
Soon after Big B was born, I began reading labels on more than just food containers. Prior to giving birth, my environmental consciousness was focused on a healthy planet. I recycled, reduce, and reused. However, it wasn't until I was in charge of this tiny human being that the door to being eco-friendly became wide open. Since then, I have slowly transformed our home into a greener home; looking for products that are made with natural ingredients, and less harmful to both the planet and our bodies.

Disney Hosts Baby Shower For Military Moms
Baby showers are fun, especially when you add a little Disney magic. Disney, in collaboration with Operation Shower, threw a baby shower for expectant military moms. It was a fun-filled event with special guests from celebrities to friends from the Hundred Acre Wood. Like any typical shower, there were food, games, and prizes. I must admit that this was the biggest shower I've ever attended. Head on over to Sweeps4Bloggers, where I am a guest contributor, to find out more about this event and a new addition to the Disney family.

Lunch at Stonefire Grill
Food exploration used to be something I did quite often. During college, I would open up the phone book (pre Yelp era) and pick a place. Often times it was a hit, very rarely was it a miss. Now, picking a place is made easy with online search engines and reviews. Despite the technological advances, I still rely on good old fashion recommendations from people. Last week, I went to lunch at Stonefire Grill for the first time, and it definitely won't be my last.

Hunger Hits Home
Food security is something that many Americans face but not many talk about. In the US, 1 in 5 kids do not know where their next meal is coming. It is a stagering statistic, especially for the land of plenty. Last night, my husband and I watched a screening of Hunger Hits Home. This poignant documentary highlights the challenges that many families across the country are encountering on a daily basis. The Food Network and Share Our Strength have teamed up to bring this film to light and hope that you can join in the fight against hunger in this country. Their goal, through the No Kid Hungry® campaign, is to ensure that every child is securely fed by 2015.

Vons just for U™ Program: Personalized Savings for You
Last week I was fortunate enough to attend a blogger event for the Vons just for U™ program. I had a great time and met some amazing SoCal bloggers. I'm really excited about this program because although I use coupons, I am by no means coupon savvy. What I like about just for U™ is that I don't have to be savvy about couponing; the program will give me the best possible deal for the items that I buy. Who wouldn't get excited about saving money, and for things you already buy anyway?! Oh, and you get a dozen free eggs when you sign up.
