Over the weekend, I watched one of my favorite good versus evil movies, Lord of the Rings. In all honesty, I have seen the trilogy more than I care to count. There is something about epic battle movies that speaks to me. Whether it's Star Wars, Harry Potter, The Avengers, etc, I just gravitate towards them. There's a new movie coming out this month and I'm quite intrigued. I know that I can't share some of my favorite movies with Big B and Little B yet, the content is just a bit too mature for them. However, I think EPIC might just be something that Big B can understand.

Big B has been asking for a puppy for the last two years. Although my husband grew up with dogs, I did not. I am not opposed to having pets, I just want to make sure that the kids are old enough to take care of them. So, in lieu of getting a dog, we usually visit the pet store and go to pet-related events. Last year we went to America's Family Pet Expo and Big B had a blast.

You already know what big Disney fans we are. We are super excited to be bringing Big B to his first Disney show, Disney on Ice. The show will be coming to SoCal in December and we can't wait. Although Big B has no idea we're taking him, I think that he is at an age that he can follow the events, understand what's going on, and appreciate the artistry. Of course, he'll also recognize some of the characters he'll be watching. The show will focus on Disney Princesses like Cinderella, Tiana, and Rapunzel. Does Big B know who these beloved characters are? You bet. He has two older girl cousins who are big fans of Disney Princesses and have exposed him to them. Big B has become fond of dragons. He used to be scared of them, but after seeing How to Train Your Dragon, he has a newfound adoration for them. We've seen the movie for three consecutive movie nights, not to mention on the iPad while in waiting rooms and restaurants. There are some violent scenes that I thought would create some issues, but Big B seems to handle them well enough. I actually like the movie and can't wait for the live show to come to SoCal in January.
I am so excited The Avengers is coming in 3 days. My husband and I rarely go to the movies. The movies that we do go out to watch are the kind with lots of special effects. We also rarely miss Disney/Pixar and superhero movies. To help prepare us, we started a superhero movie night at home (i.e. Iron Man, Captain America, etc.). The only movie left for us to watch is Thor and we're all set for The Avengers. Another reason I'm excited is because Joss Whedon directed it. We're big Joss Whedon fans: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Firefly, and Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. Joss Whedon.
