MY THOUGHTS
Design
There are a lot of reusable sandwich/snack bags out there. The Window Bag design is one of the more novel ones I have seen. My family exclusively uses reusable bags for lunch and snacks, and sometimes, I have 2 or 3 reusable bags in my lunch bag. The window took the guess work out of the equation since I didn't have to wonder what was in the bag. I especially liked that the Window Bag and Snack bag have angled corners for easy cleaning; I didn't have to dig to get crumbs out. Also, the plastic lining is stiffer than nylon, which makes inverting the bags inside-out a little more difficult than nylon-lined bags. However, this is really no big deal considering that the lining makes the bags truly leak proof.
Durability
Similar to my other reusable bags, I hand washed my Planet Wise products. As far as I've evaluated, these products are well constructed. However, I would highly suggested not using the sandwich wrap as a cutting board. I made a mistake, against my intuition, of cutting a bagel on the wrap. And of course, my blade slipped and I made a a very small nick on the wrap. So, the bags are leak proof, just not blade proof.
Functionality
As advertised, these products are truly leak proof. The lining prevented anything from seeping through to the cloth. I am a big fan. My husband likes that the sandwich wrap functions as a packaging material and placemat. Too bad he can't use it as a napkin, too. At first I thought the snack bag was too small - at least it was smaller than my other snack-sized bags. It turns out, it was just the right size for a toddler snack portion. The only thing is that the Velcro® is super adhesive and my son can't open the bag by himself, at least not yet.
Safety
Thanks to Planet Wise for sponsoring me for this event.
